Rikard Lundqvist has been named the new CEO of Optronic. He joins the company from his most recent role as CEO of the American technology consulting firm Kloudberry. Lundqvist will officially assume his new position on September 15, succeeding Ulrik Stenbacka, who has been with Optronic for 20 years, including eight years as CEO.
“Optronic has a long history of helping its customers gain a competitive edge and expand into new areas. We will build on this foundation by continuing to excel in both development and manufacturing,” says Rikard Lundqvist, incoming CEO of Optronic.

Rikard brings extensive experience as an international executive with a proven track record in leadership roles within technology-driven global companies. He has spent the past 29 years based in the United States and is now returning to Skellefteå, Sweden, for his next challenge.
“There is an enormous sense of optimism and dynamism throughout the region that greatly appeals to me. Optronic is one of several key players in this ongoing development,” says Lundqvist, who grew up in Skellefteå.

Optronic’s Chairman of the Board, Lars Åleby, who is also VP Electronics at parent company Dacke Industri, believes that Rikard Lundqvist’s experience will be a great fit for Optronic:
“Rikard’s broad experience and specialized skills will be invaluable in both our market-focused efforts and our development work,” says Lars Åleby.

Optronic currently employs around 60 people, most of whom work at the company’s facility in Skellefteå, which includes both development and manufacturing departments. The company also has development teams in Stockholm and Lund, as well as a sales office in Lahti, Finland.

After 20 years with the company, Ulrik Stenbacka is now moving on to new challenges.
“I have had many great years at Optronic and will follow the company’s continued journey with great interest. I am particularly proud that we have maintained such high standards over time and successfully managed more than 1,000 projects in optical measurement technology. We have built a level of expertise that is unmatched when it comes to managing the entire product lifecycle, from development to ongoing supply, says Ulrik Stenbacka, outgoing CEO.
