At Lumito, Karin was responsible for two key products – a reagent kit and an advanced scanner – both developed in collaboration with Optronic. Her previous work has given her deep insights into the client side of the business, an advantage she believes will be instrumental in her new role.
“A Product Manager’s task is to develop products that customers truly need and want. To succeed in this the Product Manager must bridge the gap between development and the market, with a broad understanding across various domains. I believe this experience will be highly beneficial in my new role at Optronic,” says Karin.
Karin describes Optronic as a company with a culture of openness, honesty, and a long-term approach to both development and production.
“Optronic quickly earned my trust. The company has a calm and systematic way of working, and aims to be an integral part of its customers’ product development. I was very pleased when they reached out to me with this opportunity,” she says.
Building relationships and expanding the client base
As the new Site Manager in Lund, Karin has a clear focus: to drive the office forward and to build strong, long-term relationships with clients in the region.
“When it comes to acquiring new clients, trust is everything. It’s crucial to foster open and honest dialogues about the various decisions a client might face. I truly enjoy building relationships, and that’s one of the reasons I knew Optronic was the right place for me,” says Karin.
A vision for the future: the development lab
A long-term vision for the Lund office is to establish a development lab, a goal that will require strategic recruitment. Karin is optimistic, given the talent pool in the region and the proximity to academic research.
“Taking care of our clients’ products, throughout their entire lifecycle, as if they were our own is what Optronic stands for. To achieve this, we need to be strong in development, and by bringing in additional specialized expertise, we will become an even better partner,” she concludes.
